Items to bring for your experience

Forest bathing is a slow, sensory walk through nature designed for presence rather than exercise. Unlike a hike or workout, the focus is on gently engaging your senses and moving at an unhurried pace through the landscape. Sessions typically last between one and three hours and cover a short distance—usually about .25 to miles or one to two kilometers—allowing plenty of time to pause, notice, and connect with the natural surroundings. Participants should simply be comfortable walking independently on uneven forest ground. 🌲

Participants should bring a few things in order to truly be comfortable while in the forest. There may be a few things that differ with each experiences, but here are the basics you should plan to bring.

  • Comfortable layered clothing - Michigan weather changes quickly

  • Good walking shoes

  • Small towel for your feet after barefoot walking/grounding

  • Journal and writing instrument

  • Water (and small snack if you struggle with blood sugar or need that boost)

  • Sitting pad or blanket

  • Rain jacket (we often continue in gentle rain - we will contact you if there is inclement weather that prevents us from going into the forest.)

  • Optional insect protection, netting, hat

  • Any emergency medication/inhaler/injectable rescue medicine

  • Phone in airplane mode - let your people know you will be unavailable for a few hours

Ensure that health and safety forms have been completed and submitted to WWC.

On the day of your experience, make sure to check in with your guide about any chronic conditions, medication, allergies, or injuries.
